He was born in Malaysia. He was ordained in 1992 by the Great Master Hsuan Hua in California and was the abbot of Long Beach Monastery. He is the co-founder of the Compassionate Service Society in 2002.

After that he was in a retreat for 3 years in Hawaii than he moved to California to support the community and his students there.

He is well-known about his merits and generosity, calm, stillness and kindness. His devotion and support is a role model of everyone.

The main line of his dharma teachings is about Pureland Practice. He specializes in Simplified Taichi and Shaolin Chi Kung (Qigong) and teaches several exercises of great health values such as Yijinjing, Shujingong, etc.

Teaching about the Karma

There was a nun possessed by the spirit of a giant snake that killed by her before left home-life, found relief of many years difficulty in walking after helping by a high monk who deliberated the snake spirit.

The nun happened to be a kitchen assistant in a seafood restaurant before left home life. She slaughtered the giant snake which was sold to the restaurant.
After few years working in the restaurant, she realized that her job made her creating a lot of killing karmas, so she decided to leave home-life and cultivate for repenting and clearing her karmas.
One day she realized that her left leg starting to become heavier day by day to the point that she was hardly to walk crossing over the doorsill of the temple. Eastern and Western Medical Doctors were unable to figure out what happened to her left leg. After years of such a suffering, she fortunately met a high monk who travel around her temple.
With his deep Samadhi-power, the high monk found out that there was the spirit of a snake king that coiling around the nun's left leg. That giant snake was slaughtered by the nun when she was a restaurant kitchen assistant before leaving home life.
The high monk spoke dharma and make the snake spirit to understand the cause and effect. Helping by the high monk, the snake spirit realized that in previous life, he himself was also a monk who harbored a strong hatred and turn into the snake king when he passed away. So, the snake spirit seeking help from the high monk for liberation. The snake spirit let go his hatred in mind and reincarnate as a boy in a rich family and then will be leaving home life to continue his cultivation by the age of 17.
And the nun was told to recite few scroll of Earth-store Bodhisattva Sutra to make transference and benefit for the reincarnation of snake spirit.
When the high monk spoke dharma to the snake spirit, there was a lady ghost hanging around. The ghost who had been tried many times unsuccessful in possessing the nun before and after her leaving home life. The nun past life was a man who try to sexual harassing a beautiful lady. To prevent being raped by the man, the lady jump down from a high building and died. She turned into a ghost and tried to take revenge to the man. Since the man still had sufficient blessings for his own protection, the ghost unable to harm him. In the following life reincarnated as a lady who then worked in the restaurant, the lady ghost found that it was a good chance for taking revenge upon the kitchen helper 's since her blessings become lesser when creating a lot of killing karmas in the restaurant. But in realizing her karmas created, the kitchen helper left home life and be a nun who cultivate sincerely till her blessings increasing again. The ghost once again unable to harm her but hanging around to wait for another chance. But after listening the dharma talk of the high monk, the lady ghost realized the endless suffering in the cycle of taking revenge to one another. So, she seeking help from the high monk for liberation. Letting go her hatred in mind, the lady ghost was liberated and cultivated under the guidance of Avalokishvara Bodhisattva.
